Welcome, 2023! May you be a good one.

The last year was a snooze, then again, so were the last five years. At least for me . I would blink and months would come and go. This year, I would like to make changes to that. Away with this slothful, Rip Van Winkle-esque habits. It is not a focus on productivity, that endless churning of activity for the sake of being busy, but just…living. To paraphrase Samwise Gamgee poorly, there still some good in this world, and I plan to look for it! So here is a belated Happy New Year to everyone!

Out of chaos…an new year!

Welcome to 2021! Those of us who made it out of 2020 surely sighed in relief and gratitude, as the clock chimed past midnight on 1 January 2021.

A snap I took of some plants in the gardens of the Karlsruhe Palace, 31 December 2020.

In my short memory, this is the only time I have experienced a collective uncertainty about the future, from around the world. Nevertheless, there are those that put one foot in front of the other and still worked on their dreams and are now seeing them fulfilled. This is how we have got through the great catastrophes of our respective histories…the floods, the plagues, the wars, and the Pompeiis alike. Small, careful steps forward. And hope. For that is what drags us out of the doldrums, when nothing else will. Maybe today…maybe today will be the day when…! Hope.

Let this be an inspiration you all for the year ahead.

Happy New Year! May the year, if tough, leave you with enough hope to carry you to the next.

Happy Birhday!

Just wondering what you would make of this half of 2020. It has to be lived to be believed. Some years are bad, others are good, and others yet…boring. This year is serving up a collective roller coaster for everyone…and there’s no steadying pole in sight, yet. Still, I know you’d find more than one bright spot in it, so cheers to that spirit!

Here’s a bright bunch for a rather grim year. Happy Birthday!

We are here!

Whatever this year brings, let it not be the mess of 2019. Actually, let it not be the the last five years. Gods, life is tough and no fairy tale, but a few rewards here and there sure would make it sweeter. Otherwise, it’s just a slog, isn’t it?

366 new days for success and failure, joy and sorrow, life and death, and everything in between. .

Anyway, good luck to us all in the new year! Leave 2019 where it belongs now, the past. If you brought anything over, let it be to work on it and not flog yourself over it. Forgive yourself, pick yourself up and move forward…it may be great!

best, TL.

Post the first…

…in which a fresh attempt is made at blogging. This one will stick. Why? Because progress is better than perfection. I don’t know why but I always expected to launch a perfect blog , with perfect posts, with perfect timing, the perfect audience, perfect this and that, capped with a Julie & Julia-esque finale.

Ugh! That attitude really kills a lot of ideas. And it’s so draining. Which is why I have started with a bare bones post and blog. It will evolve, as all things eventually do; but in it’s own time…as all things do. I have no expectations except to post when inspiration strikes. I’m an old ass millennial with little to offer in the #influencer hustle. I respect it, but I have no talent. It’s okay. So thanks for joining me again on the blog journey. I, too, am curious to see where it leads. Ha ha ha!

Best,
