A birthday tribute

The passage of time is such an insidious thing. Looking at the end of it, what a surprise finding that almost 10 years have passed! Happy Birthday.

The adage ‘time heals all wounds’ holds partially true. It can only heal if you let it. I have a cut on my lip I’ve had since my primary school days that I rip off as soon as it scabs over… that’s a long time ago. Time insists, without fail, to cover this wound with a thin layer of cells, and I insist on removing it, expecting the inevitable pain that comes with it. I should stop.

I believe with do this with all sorts of wounds, whether of the flesh or of the soul. We should learn to let time heal them in its agonisingly slow and mundane way.

Today was a sunny and warm day. You’d have liked it.

Post the first – revised

…in which a (second) fresh attempt is made at blogging. The first attempt was on 3rd October 2018! Actually, I got this site in 2017 (Gee!). This one will and must stick. Why? Because progress is better than perfection, and I think I’m now (almost) over the latter. I don’t know why but I always expected to launch a perfect blog, with perfectly crafted posts, with perfect timing, the perfect audience, perfect this and that, capped with a Julie & Julia-esque finale…can you already feel the exhaustion? Because I did, before the first post was even a week old.

The weight of (hubristic?) expectation proved a far greater challenge than actually having any topic to write about. Which is why I have started again, this time with a bare bones post and blog theme. It will evolve, as all things eventually do; but in it’s own time…as all things do. I have no expectations except to post when inspiration strikes. I have little to offer in the #influencer hustle pool. I respect it, but I have no talent. It’s okay.

So thanks for joining me again on the blog journey. I, too, am curious to see where it leads. Ha ha ha!

Best,

TL,
